Chiropractors play a vital role

in

holistic health

Literally holistic means treating the body as a whole. These days when you have a medical problem your Primary Care Physician won’t address the problem but will send you to a specialist because medicine today breaks the body into specific parts.

Are You Looking For

While chiropractors don’t hold a medical doctor (MD) degree, they are Doctors of Chiropractic Care. Their studies include many of the same subjects that MDs study. These include physiology, orthopedics, anatomy, microbiology, radiology, and more.

Holistic Approach

Chiropractors play a vital role in holistic health because they don’t just treat symptoms. Literally holistic means treating the body as a whole.

Supplements

To accompany your treatments Dr. Livingston will also recommend specific supplements to be certain that you are getting the important vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.

Detoxification

On a daily basis our bodies are filled with toxins from the foods we eat, the air we breathe, and other things that we may contact on a daily basis.

Applied Kinesiology

This is an important diagnostic method also known as Manual Muscle Testing. Because there is a definite correlation between muscle weakness and internal issues.

Complete Food Sensitivity Testing

Symptoms that our patients experience with food sensitivity are stomach pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, tiredness, constipation, skin rashes, and headaches.

Spinal Decompression

For over ten years, we have been providing non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for patients who suffer with disc and nerve injuries, using spinal decompression therapy.

Ten common signs you

WHAT IS THE GI MAPPING?

The GI-MAP test is a stool test that can help Dr. Livingston understand and address your gut health which can affect your overall health and wellbeing. It is a way of evaluating your stool for the good and bad bacteria present as well as viruses,  parasites, fungi, and worms along with markers of inflammation, and also how well your digestive enzymes are functioning. Additionally, GI-Mapping also alerts Doctor Livingston of your overall immune function. In other words, it offers a comprehensive look at your overall gut health by measuring the pathogens in your gastrointestinal system. These will determine what microbes are causing any chronic illnesses.

The crucial role of the gut in overall health influences digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function, and mental well-being. Dysbiosis, which is an imbalance in your gut microbiome, can lead to many health issues like digestive disorders, autoimmune diseases, allergies, and mood disorders. The understanding and the maintenance of a healthy gut is necessary for overall wellness.

Dr. Livingston Lab Work

Some of the other types of lab work that Dr. Livingston could order are:

Digital X-rays

These are X-rays that use a low amount of radiation. They aid Dr. Livingston in assessing injuries to the spine and also to your extremities.

Saliva Testing

This is a viable tool to assess your general health and to investigate any underlying causes of several conditions.

MRI

An MRI is a non-invasive form of imaging that uses radio waves and a magnetic field in order to take pictures of bones as well as soft tissues. These pictures help in identifying hairline or stress fractures. With this identification, Dr. Livingston can proceed with treating your pain, preventing further damage, and determining your individualized treatment plan.

CT scan

CT scans are used in the diagnosis of your spinal structure and health. With this information Livingston Chiropractic can put together your personalized treatment plan. CT scans provide a more detailed view of your bones and your spine than a traditional 2D image does. With the results of the CT scan, Dr. Livingston will determine misalignments, degenerative changes, and other issues. He sometimes orders the CT scans with contrast to make the images even more visible.

Electromyography (EMG Testing)

With the results of this testing, Dr. Livingston can determine if you have any dysfunction or irregular activity to the function of your muscles. It will provide us with a very accurate diagnosis of your muscle injury and/or impairment.

**All of the above lab tests will help Dr. Livingston in determining the treatment plan he will use to relieve your pain and improve your functioning.

HORMONE PROFILES

Let’s begin with what hormones are. They are your body’s chemical messengers carrying information through your bloodstream to your cells. Generally, hormones affect very specific cells through receptors. The hormones are produced in the endocrine glands then they travel via the bloodstream to your tissues and organs. Every hormone has a specific goal to carry a key message to different parts of the body.

HORMONE PROFILES

Comes Naturally

Your body’s hormones control and balance practically every system in your body. They impact growth and development, mood control, stress management, and influence how your body breaks down food. Hormone testing is the best way to determine if your hormone levels are affecting your health in an adverse manner.

Hormone profile tests measure hormone levels. These help Dr. Livingston to understand your hormonal makeup so that he can identify any conditions that may arise. When these levels are too high or too low they can have a significant impact on your health. We use the results of these hormone tests for diagnosis, monitoring, and screening.

Livingston Chiropractic

The kind of care you receive at Livingston Chiropractic can help to balance your hormones in many ways:

01

Stress

When you are stressed you could be triggering a hormonal imbalance. Dr. Livingston can help reduce this stress with spinal adjustments.

02

Spinal Adjustments

Because there are many glands that regulate hormones and endocrine health in the spinal cord a misalignment could cause a miscommunication between the endocrine and the brain. An adjustment that is called a subluxation often helps to correct this type of misalignment. Ultimately, it will improve communication between the nervous system and the endocrine system.

03

Hormones

Feel-good hormones such as oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin are released with chiropractic adjustments.
